As reported by Betakit, Trexity, a same-day delivery startup, recently secured $5 million in a seed round led by Telus Ventures. Alok Ahuja, a former Shopify executive, Mathieu Bouchard and Darren Schnare co-founded Trexity in 2019 after they recognized a need for better delivery services from local, small businesses.
According to the co-founders, over 600 small and medium-sized businesses use Trexity’s platform for delivery, and on an average day more than 400 couriers make deliveries across four cities. The co-founders also stated that Trexity has recently experienced a 25 percent increase in its revenue growth quarter-over-quarter.
Trexity plans to use the capital to further expand its delivery service into new markets across Canada and the United States. The startup is set to start operations in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Halifax. The capital will also enable Trexity to increase engagement in its current markets of Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, and Winnipeg, and to hire 10 to 15 employees over the next six months for its marketing, sales, and engineering teams.
